I consider it a pleasure to have the opportunity to work with your child in the area of health and physical education.
The ongoing assignment for each student is to stay active. Power walking, swimming, jogging, biking, and hiking are examples of activities the student can participate in at least three days per week for a minimum of thirty minutes each time.
Since we are on a A/B block schedule, students will participate in P.E. every other school day for eighty minutes. Students will participate in health-related fitness activities, to include fitness testing, for half the period and skill-related fitness activites the other half. During the first semester, students will paricipate in the team sports of volleyball, softball, rugby, soccer, and basketball.
Please note that students are required to dress out for physical education classes.
From November 2 - November 14 our class will be particpating in a Rugby unit. The skills that will be covered are forward pass, lateral pass, pop pass, loop pass, catching, carrying, flag pulling, defending, punting, and the scrum.
