This Week's Standards
S6E3. Students will recognize the significant role of water in Earth processes.
a. Explain that a large portion of the Earth's surface is water consisting of oceans, rivers, lakes, underground water, and ice.
b. Relate various atmospheric conditions to stages of the water cycle.
c. Describe the composition, location, and subsurface topography of the world's oceans.
d. Explain the causes of waves, currents, and tides.

1. Third block will complete the Wave Notes.
2. In all classes, we will review wave movements.
3. We will begin the discussion on tides.

1. The Tide Notes will be completed today.
2. Students will complete a Types of Tides worksheet.
1/28
1. Today, we will discuss surface and density currents.
2. Students will participate in a jig-saw activity. This will be turned in at the end of class.
1/29
1. Do Now Quiz #4 over #35-44.
2. We will complete the discussion of currents.
3. Students will receive the Water Cycle, Atmosphere, and Ocean Study Guide. Time will be given in class to find answers to these questions.
