Standards Addressed:                
SS6G8-The student will locate selected features of Europe.
SS6G9-The student will discuss environmental issues in Europe (Acid Rain in Germany)
SS6G10-The student will explain the impact of location, climate, natural resources, and population distribution on Europe.
SS6G11-The student will describe cultural characteristics of Europe.
SS6CG5-The student will explain the structure of modern European governments.
SS6H7-The student will explain conflict & change in Europe to the 21st century.

We have about three days worth of lessons from last week to make up this week! We also will be visited by the Velocity team in class on Friday!

Monday, November 2
AIM: The Rise of Dictators: Benito Mussolini
Homework: Finish Fascism Advertisement-- It’s due Wednesday!
Lesson Steps:
1)    CRCT 13.1
2)    Finish Lecture Notes: Benito Mussolini & Fascism
3)    5 Minute Film: Benito Mussolini
4)    Fascism Advertisement: Create a magazine advertisement for Fascism. You are trying to sell the Italian people on this concept, so you are for it!

Tuesday, November 3
AIM: The Rise of Dictators: Adolf Hitler
Homework: Fascism Advertisement is due Wednesday! Finish Hitler Yard Sign by Friday!
Lesson Steps:
1)    CRCT 13.2
2)    Lecture Notes: Adolf Hitler & the Nazi Party
3)    5 Minute Film: Adolf Hitler
4)    Hitler Yard Sign (One side is “pro Hitler” the other side is “anti-Hitler”): Make a sign with two sides. One side is campaigning for Hitler’s and the Nazi Party’s rise to power—the other side is campaigning AGAINST this!! We will tape a popsicle stick to these and “plant” them in the hallway!

Wednesday, November 4
AIM: The Rise of Dictators: Joseph Stalin
Homework: Finish Hitler Yard Sign by Friday!
Lesson Steps:
1)    Week 13 Daily Geo Questions
2)    Turn in Fascism Advertisement
3)    Lecture Notes: Joseph Stalin & the Communist Soviet Union
4)    5 Minute Film: Joseph Stalin
5)    Communist Slogans: Down with communism? Or more power to Stalin? Design a button with a slogan to either support or reject communist ideas in the Soviet Union. Remember, if Stalin found out you were against him, you might be jailed…or killed!

Thursday, November 5
AIM:  Fascism, Nazism, and Communism
Homework: Finish Hitler Yard Sign by Friday!
Lesson Steps:
1)    Week 13 Daily Geo Questions
2)    Finish Communist Slogan buttons and TURN IN!
3)    Work on Hitler Yard Signs due tomorrow
4)    CHART: Fascism, Nazism, and Communism

Friday, November 6

Homework: Read CH 15.3 “World War II” pg. 356-360
Lesson Steps:
1)    Turn in Week 13 Daily Geo Questions
2)    Agenda Book Check!
3)    Turn in Hitler Yard Sign
4)    VELOCITY!!
5)    Begin reading WWII for Monday.
