Lesson Plans: Week 33
4/18/11-4/22/11

***CRCT Testing continues this week through Thursday! The schedule is: 4/18/11-Make-up Day, 4/19/11-Math, 4/20/11-Science, 4/21/11-Social Studies, 4/22/11 Make-up Day & PRIDE DAY! Be sure your child has a good night’s sleep and a protein-filled breakfast each morning. The brain needs water and energy in order to perform at its best! Each child needs 2 sharpened #2 pencils EACH day of testing! Please be ON TIME to school each day! Research suggests that students perform at a higher level in their regular testing environment, so please consider rescheduling any conflicts that interfere with testing for a time later in the day, so your child does not have to be put in a “make-up” testing situation at the end of this week.***

Test Taking Tips:
•    Eat well beforehand!
•    Bring sharpened #2 pencils with erasers!
•    Read ALL directions!
•    Answer easy questions first. Skip difficult ones and come back to them later. Answer EVERY question!
•    Don’t be in a rush. Pay attention to the time you have and use all of your time to work or review your answers!
•    Make sure that your answer choice actually answers the question being asked! Sometimes, answer choices sound correct, but they don’t have anything to do with answering the question asked!

Georgia Performance Standards Addressed:
ALL standards with relation to: Australia, Latin America, Canada, and Europe!

Parents, we will continue reviewing key concepts for CRCT Testing, which continues this week through Thursday! As the Social Studies CRCT will not be given until the last day of testing this week, we will continue using class time as review time. Please continue to take practice tests by visiting the Midland Middle School Website, clicking the tab at the top of the page which reads “Students” and clicking the link for “CRCT Test Prep Online” or by simply visiting http://www.georgiaoas.org. With your child’s MMS login information, each child will be able to take sample, practice CRCT-style tests in preparation for the actual tests! As always, please remember that if you are not receiving emailed Progress Reports on Friday afternoons, please email me at lharvey@mcsdga.net so I can correct the problem. Thanks!
