Parents,
I am offering assistance to any student who wants to improve their cursive writing skill. If you or your child does not want to participate, that is fine. My intention is to help your student improve their skills this year. It is not to punish them for their handwriting. Again, when I introduce a new procedure, I do not take the grade on the first attempt. I always grade the work, but I explain to your student that it is graded so that they see how I grade and what I expect from them. If they bring home a paper with a low grade, it does not mean that I recorded that grade. We are learning. I am learning what they can and cannot do and they are learning my procedures and grading system. My intent is to help your student improve in many areas. Language arts is writing, spelling, speaking, listening, and reading. I will touch on all the elements of language arts.
