This will be my last school note to all of you. The sixth grade is planning on an ice cream party the last day of school with Emily Blakey's and Steven Scarantino's mothers in charge. We are asking for $1.00 donation to cover the costs.
I want to share with you that I have had a wonderful year teaching your children. After much thought I have decided to retire this year but hope to go back to school to substitute teach.
Science assignments:We are working on our hobbies and we've enjoyed the variety of students choices. We've had a cooking class, jewelry making, rock collections to name a few. Here are the notes the students need:
1. Describe your hobby.
2. When did you begin this hobby? How did you get started or who "inspired" you?
3. Do you plan on continuing this hobby when you get older? Explain why or why not.
4. How does Science enter into your hobby?
After hobby day we will have a short unit on physical science with roller coasters. We'll watch a video on roller coasters and then design one. It should be loads of fun.
Monday,May 19, I am picking up all of the oceanography warm ups for a grade. If the students do not have their notes I plan to give them an open book test to receive a grade. It baffles me how they do not keep up with their work.
