Dear parents and students,
At the top of this message is a hyperlink, "Mr. Brantley's Art Page". If you click on it, you will be taken to a new page, "Middle School Art", which I have ceated especially for my middle school students.
Use of the Internet has become an integral tool for learning, in addition to being an essential part of our world's commerce and communication. I want my students to learn to make good use of it.
Some of the assignments that I give you will require you to solve a real problem. I do this deliberately because problem-solving skills are very necessary for a happy, successful life. Sometimes, the problem may be something like, "How do I make this picture look like I want it to look?" Sometimes, it may be something like, "How do I get a print from the homework page when I don't have a computer at home?" I suggest that you may want to borrow a friend's computer. You can also access computers at the city library.
There is a solution. You just have to find it. When you get used to solving problems, you will find that you have much more control over your own destiny, instead of having to wait for someone else to take care of your problems for you.
If you have any suggestions for ways to improve what I am working on, I would love to hear them.
Thank you,
James Brantley
