Work for the week of August 24 - 28 is as follows:
Standards: ELA 8R2 - The student understands and aquires new vocabulary and uses it correctly in reading and writing.
ELA 8C1 - Building upon skills mastered in 7th grade, the student demonstrates understanding and control of the rules of the English language.
Monday - We will be venturing to the Media Center to check out or renew books. Students should be reading! Students will be given 14 easily confused words. These words are also on this website under "flashcards." We will begin our preposition illustrations in class and will continue these tomorrow.
Homework - Study prepositions on pages 66 & 67 in your Handbook. Tomorrow you will be reciting 20 prepositions for a grade! Begin studying your easily confused words for Thursday's quiz.
Gifted class - Georgia Author reports will be due next Monday. Continue working on these, and if you use quotes, you should have a Works Cited page.
Tuesday - We continued working on our preposition illustrations and preposition treasure maps. Some of them are great!
Homework - Continue studying the 20 easily confused words for Thursday's test.
Some students need to study their prepositions on pages 66 & 67 to make up tomorrow's preposition recitation.
