Attendance Requirement
In the event your child is absent within 3 days of his/her return to school he/she should bring a written excuse.

Georgia recognizes as legal absences:
1. Personal illness (verified with doctor's note or letter)
2. Death in the immediate family (grandparent, parent, sibling)
3. Recognized religious holidays observed by your faith
4. Absences mandated by governmental agencies
5. Instances where attendance would be hazardous

Upon returning to school from an excused absence, a student is given 3 school days to make arrangements to complete make-up work. IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE STUDENT TO ASK THE TEACHER FOR ANY MISSED ASSIGNMENTS.

TO DO WELL IN SCHOOL, ONE SHOULD STUDY EVERY NIGHT.  IF THERE ISN'T MUCH HOMEWORK, THERE IS TIME TO GO BACK OVER NOTES, HANDOUTS, AND REVIEW A CHAPTER.  TEST TAKING IS EASY ONCE YOU FIGURE OUT THE SECRETS. IT'S A GOOD IDEA TO KEEP UP WITH THE CLASSES EACH NIGHT; THEN IF THERE IS A QUIZ, ONE CAN BE READY. SOME TEACHERS LIKE TO SURPRISE STUDENTS WITH A QUIZ, AND SOME LET STUDENTS KNOW WHEN TO STUDY. I DO BOTH. EACH DAY, TEACHERS ADD MORE MATERIAL, AND IT'S NOT GOOD TO GET BEHIND. IT ONLY TAKES A LITTLE TIME, AND IT IS WORTH IT TO STUDY EACH NIGHT.

We are studying chapter 2. Your child has a textbook and should read the assigned section every night.(We are working on section 2)

The students will be working on handout in the classroom until they learn how to find the important information in the textbook. (some can but too many can't)
