Reading Strategy: Main Idea

Reading Vocabulary: (located in spelling text,p.141)
16.hero- a person who is looked up to by others.
17.scientific- having to do with, or used in, science.
18.curious- eager to learn about things that are new, strange,or interesting.
19.experiment- a test used to discover or prove something.
20.discuss- to talk over; speak about.
21.advice- an idea about how to solve a problem or how to act in a situation.

Chapter 9 Review
Multiplication Facts and Strategies: Multiplying with 6-9
Review will help students get ready for the math portion of the CRCT.Please have your child study the multiplication facts each night before bedtime.

Science/Writing
Note: We have completed Unit A : Earth Science Chapters 1: Rocks and Minerals,Chapter 2: Changes to Earth's Land.Students had a wonderful time exploring and learning about different rocks and minerals--rock collection and observations were very successful.
Students have learned, that Earth's land is made up of rocks and soil.These materials are affected by processes that change Earth's surface over time.

         Chapter 3  Magnetism 89-123
Lessons 1 and 2
Students will investigate magnets and how they affect other magnets and common objects.
Students will learn how magnets attract and repel each other.

STRATEGY: Questioning before, during and after reading the text and using various graphic organizers.
