Hello Parents and Guardians, Your child received their Black History Month project requirement on Friday, January 29th (it is also at the bottom of this page).  Please review  the information with your child.  Below are the lesson for the week of February 8-12, 2010 (is subject to change).

    SS6 H2 The student will explain the development of Latin America and Canada as colonies of European nations through their independence    Students will go to media center for black history project research.    Students will understand that the culture of a society is the product of the religion, beliefs, customs, traditions, and government of that society.     How do religion, beliefs, customs, traditions, and government of a society affects its culture?    Participation 15%

BLACK HISTORY MONTH PROJECT
TENTATIVE DUE DATE:
Monday, March 1, 2010

    You will research two famous African Americans. We will go to the media center at least one day to do research, however much of the project is expected to be completed at home. The research format must be as follows:
Report should be one typed page in your own words
Double spaced
Font 12 points, double spaced with a report cover

Print two copies of your report, one for your poster and one for your presentation. Plagiarism will result in the student not receiving credit for the project.

The format is described below:

____ 8 x 10 Colored Pictures of Each Person – 40 points

*Note:  A penalty of 20 points per day will be deducted from each grade for each day it is LATE!  Ten bonus points will be added to final project grade for parent signature on first day this sheet is sent home!
