2nd Block- worked on multiple choice test in groups. Homwork is to finish GLASS CASTLE novel. Mutiple choice final and RC test tomorrow.
Block 3- Students took final on LOVERLY BONES. Students also turned in their homework, the quotes from the novel.
Block 4- Students worked on their collages, which are due tomorrow. Students also begain watching I KNOW WHY THE CAGED BIRD SINGS.
All blocks: Last day for RC tests is March 7,2008. 4th block collage due Friday. 3rd block map also due tomorrow. All blocks will have a quiz on SAT 4 words tomorrow.

1. What is the purpose of an allowance? Should allowances be earned or given?
2. To criticize means to find fault in another person. Make a list of critical statements you have made to another person, or persons. List 5 things. What could you have said instead? Explain.
3. Why do you think people pick on or bully others? What can be done about it? Explain.
4. Write about the importance of keeping promises. Discuss a time when someone broke a promise to you.
All blocks will view SAT 4 video. SAT 4 quiz in on Friday.
2nd- work in groups on making GLASS CASTLE test.
3rd- review for final Thursday, and work on THE LOVELY BONES map ativity.
4th- work on collage for THE OUTSIDERS.
Finals on class novels: 2nd is Friday, 3rd is Thursday!

Do now- SAT 4 words with definitions. Get words from another student. 2nd-homework read pgs. 186-214. Quiz Tuesday on pages 186-214.
4th block- final on the Outsiders. 30 mul choice, grammar activity rewrite, and short answers. Will finish in class Tuesday.
3rd Block- listened to Lovely Bones, finish chapter 22 at home.

2nd Block- Read Lovely Bones, chapter 23. Begin map labeling activity.
4th- finish tests from Monday, begin Angela's Ashes DVD.
Deadline to pay $40 for fieldtrip on March 14 is Wednesday, March 5,2008.

Today we go to the library. Your child should always have a RC book to be reading at home. Ask to see it!
We will continue reading all novels.
2nd Block has a group skit that will be due Friday. It will involve dressing up.
Other work to be announced.
Please remember field trip dues of $40 are due by March 5th. This will be an all day trip to Medieval Times in Atlanta, Goergia. Fee inlcudes bus, bus driver fee, lunch, class picture and frame, jousting ceremony, tour of torture chanbers, tour of dungeons, hat, and flag. This will go with our King Arthur unit.

All three of my English II classes are reading a specific novel, chosen especially for their class.

Second Block students are reading a novel entitled THE GLASS CASTLE.They were quizzed on pages 102-125 today. We are now reading Part III of the novel. They should have read the first 144 pages of the novel.
Third Block- The students are reading the novel THE LOVELY BONES. They are to finish reading chapter 12 this weekend.
Fourth Block- The students are reading the novel THE OUTSIDERS. We have read the first five chapters. There is no homework this weekend.
We have SAT quizzes every week on our SAT words. The students have received the words and there will be a matching quiz on Wednesday,February 27.
Students are required to read 6 books every 9 weeks. Honors English will read seven. Students read the book, then take a 10 question multiple choice test on the computer in my room. Students must make at least a 70 for the grade to count. If the student makes a 60 then they may retake the test to see if they can score a higher grade.
All students should have the novel their class is reading, as well as their own personal novel from the library. We go to the library every Tuessday so students can check out books. Students may check out more than one book at a time.
