1st and 4th blocks, Earth Science and Environmental Science:
Since the majority of both of these classes are juniors and seniors who will be taking the Georgia High School Graduation Test (GHSGT) in March, we are reviewing for the science portion of that test. We are alternating between physical science and biology every two weeks. This is a quickly paced review, not a "re-teach" of the material. The standards are covered, with exercises to provide practice and retraining. Tests are given at the end of each two week period (after a subject review).
We are doing this review to help Kendrick High School reach annual yearly progress (AYP). The number of students passing the GHSGT and graduating is a large porition of AYP. We must all do our part to ensure our school remains in good standing and one of which we can be proud.
We will start with the class curriculum after the GHSGT is completed. There is not an end of course test for either of these classes. Participating in the review in no way jeopardizes the grade or GPA of the student. The grade earned in the review will carry over for the class.
