   Subjects taught:  Physical Science
                     Georgia Studies

              PHYSICAL SCIENCE
Your Student will be issued a Blue Holt Science & Technology Physical book.  This is the book that I will follow this year along with the Georgia Standards for Physical Science.

Your student needs to bring His/Her Physical Science book to class each day. We will use the book and Ga. Standards along with current events to allow your student to know how physical science is used in daily life.  This helps the student to understand that physical science is part of their every day life. I try to make our lessons interesting and fun.  I require a lot of writing, creating manipulitives and testing to see how your student is progressing in their growth of knowledge. Any help from parents is greatly appreciated.

MY WEB SITE IS UPDATED WEEKLY OR AS WE ENTER A NEW    GEORGIA PREFROMANCE STANDARD!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Please feel free to call the school, or set up an appointment or come and visit the class(stop by the office for a pass).  I am here to help your student to understand how physical science affects their life, and how to pass 8th grade, the CRCT, and the Georgia Science exit exam in High School.

The grading scale is as follows:

Experiments/Quizes  20%
Class Participation 15%
Tests               35%

               GEORGIA STUDIES

Your student will be issued a new Georgia Studies book, Bonnie Bullard London, "Georgia and the American Experience" book.  This book follows the growth of Georgia from the first Indians to the present day.  It is correlated with the Georgia Performance Standards.  We will be using it to learn about the Great State of Georgia.

The grading scale is as follows:
Classwork/Homework    35%
Quizes                20%
Class Participation   10%
Tests                 35%

We are learning about Georgia in the first chapter, "Where in the world is Georgia".  I have many engaging lesson plans to help your student understand and learn what they need to know for the CRCT test and the High School Exit Exam. Please have your student read the chapters as we travel through the history of this old and interesting state.  Parental involvement is grealy appreciated. Your experiences in Georgia help your student understand and enjoy this information.

I have many assignments that most students complete in class. They are usually allowed to take home any work that they do not finish in class.  I want them to do as much work as reasonable so they can grow as a student. All assigned work will help them understand that physical science is alive in thier life.
Please feel free to contact me anytime. Help me to help your student to be the "BEST" they can be. I am here to help them to become a lifelong learner.  We all benefit when our children strive to reach for the sky. I am looking for a great learning year with you and your student.
                        Sincerely,
                        Coach Robert L. Rollier Jr.
