We are looking forward to a great year in 2007-2008. This is my first year at Northside but I have been teaching for almost twelve years. I have six wonderful students and two paraprofessionals in my class.
This year we will be working on functional communication skills using picture symbols and communication devices.
We will be addressing Georgia Performance Standards on the 11th grade level in a variety of subject areas at different times of the school year. During the months of September and October, we will be addressing ELA standards by reading the novel Frankenstein by Mary Shelley. In the months of November and December, we will be addressing Math GPS in Algebra and Geometry. Our final activity incorpated with these standards will be to make quilts using geometric shapes and patterns. Science and Social Studies standards will be addresssed when we return from the Christmas Holidays.
I am so excited about this year and I expect great things from all of my students.
