Blanchard parents and students, we are still welcoming new members to our chorus. Our next event is Honors Chorus, with a concert at Hardaway High School this Saturday night January 23rd, at 7:00PM, in the auditorium. Only the chosen singers are included, but all are invited to enjoy the concert. We are represented by A.J. Norris, Shakira Hampton, Ashlyn Dismukes, Mary Elizabeth Davis and Cayla Harding.
Next, we have been invited to sing the National Anthem at the Columbus Cottonmouths game, which will be on Thursday evening, February 4th. 6:30PM Singers are given free tickets, and family members may purchase discounted tickets for $9 (regularely $12) by sending a check made out to Columbus Cottonmouths to me at school. I will arrange for all Blanchard families and friends to have a section reserved. we can sit together and root for our team. The tickets you order will be at will call that evening (feb. 4th). It will be at the civic center.
In March, we will perform for the Elementary Chorus at Johnson Elementary. This will be a field trip for us. We cannot invite anyone else because of space availablity.
The Schwob 'School of music at Columbus State University is sponsoring a choir for youth in our area called "Voices Of The Valley". This group is currently recruiting new members, and I highly reccommend it, as does Teresa Peirce, one of our Blanchard teachers who serves on their board.
