Please make sure you are checking your child's weekly assignments. I give vocabulary words on Monday and they have the entire week to complete their assignments. The vocabulary assignments are due on Friday. They have a vocabulary test on Friday. This has been explained, in detail, to your child. They should have a copy of the weekly assignnments in their LA notebook. Because of the holiday this week, there will be no vocabulary assignments.
We have been studying the history of English. Your child should have brought home a mini-poster that was started in class. This is due on Wed., Sept. 3 and it counts as a test grade. Please make sure your child turns this in on time. There will be a test on Wed., Sept. 3. They have a study guide that will cover everything on the test. Please encourage your child to study.
Every class went to the library last Tuesday. All students should have checked out an AR book. They are expected to read three AR books every nine weeks. They must read AR books on their level and pass the AR tests.
We will begin working from the grammar book this week. We will continue to read Beowulf. Please encourage your child to read daily.
This is a great group of students and I enjoy teaching them every day.
