Dear Parents,

Your sons and/or daughters are learning about Changes Over Time in chapter 6. Some questions that they should be able to answer are listed below.
                       Section 1
1. What important observations did Darwin make on his
   voyage?
2. What hypothesis did Darwin make to explain the dif-
   ferences betwen similar species?
3. How does natural selection lead to evolution?
                       Section 2
1. What evidence supports the theory of evolution?
2. How does scientists infer evolutionary relation-
   ships among organisms?
3. How does a new species form?
                       Section 3
1. How do most fossils form?
2. How can scientists determine a fossil's age?
3. What is the geologic time scale?
4. What are some unanswered questions about evolution?
