Warm-Up #7
Collect Survey homework. Students were to survey 50 people on their 4 approved questions. 2 questions are categorical and 2 questions are numerical. Students are to use the data to make a frequency chart.
Discussion of 2 types of graphs: Frequency Table and Stem and Leaf Plot.
Mean, Median, and Mode Foot Activity.
Homework - Use the data you collected from your survey to create 4 types of graphs, 1 for each of your 4 questions. Construction paper will be provided, if needed. This assignment is due Monday. One of the graphs will be completed in the computer lab Friday, 8/21/09.

Study guide on the types of graphs given. Discussion of outlier and cumulative frequency.
Homework - Blue Math book page 378-379 (1-10)
Test Monday, August 24th. See flash cards for the vocabulary words that you will be tested on.
Wednesday 8/18
Warm-Up #9
Collect homework. Discussion of homework assignment from Tuesday. Answer any questions about the assignment. Begin algebraic challenge problems.

Students will visit the computer lab to complete 1 of the 4 types of graphs that are due Monday. At least one of your graphs must be completed using technology.

Math Text Book is Now On-Line If your child forgets their math book at school, they can now view their textbook on line. Students have already been assigned a password. The should click on the site, click on mathematics, on-line textbook and assignments. This will allow them to view any assignments that I've given in class. If they want to view the book . click book pages.
Triple A Math This site gives you immediate feedback with correcting math problems. It has math topics for grades K - 8.
Problem of the Week Students will compete with other students around the world to have their names posted on this site, if they can answer the problem of the week correctly.
Math Dictionary Made Easy Parents, do you want to help your child understand some of the challenging math words, but need additional help? This site is for you! Not only does it give the definition, but it also shows examples of problems relating to that word.
