Homework will always be listed here (i.e.- to complete vocabulary definitions, read the chapter that we're studying, and/or to study for a test...Tests are usually given every week and a half to two weeks.
Homework will be assigned on Mondays and due on Fridays all year. Thanks for your help.

Week of November 30th, 2009 (Have a good one!)
***We will be working in the new CRCT practice books. If you would like to order one (They are WONDERFUL for practice), please send $10 and your child may have one of his/her own to use. The office will be ordering these books. We only have about 23 as a class set to use.
GPS Standard- SS7G1-The student will locate selected features in Africa...rivers,lakes,mountains,and deserts.
Homework- All vocabulary, people, and places from Chapter 9- pages 201,205, and 212. (29 words...Due Friday.)
November 16-20, 2009 (Have a great one!)
GPS Standard-SS7G1-The student will locate selected features in Africa...countries of Egypt,Sudan,Kenya,Nigeria,Congo, and South Africa.
We will be studying Chapter 8 (Africa) this week. We will begin to use the special CRCT workbooks this week.
Homework- Chapter 8- Define ALL words (vocabulary, people, and places) from Sections 1,2,and 3- pages 201, 205 and 212.)
November 9-13, 2009 (Have a great one!)
GPS Standard- SS7G9- To be able to locate selected features in Southern and Eastern Asia. (North Korea, South Korea, Vietnam)
We will be studying Chapter 18 this week. (Southeast Asia)
Homework- Write definitions of all vocabulary, people, and places from Sections 1, 2, and 3. These are pages 397, 400, 404.
There will NOT be a test on Friday. Wednesday is an off-day!!! :)
November 2-6, 2009 (Have a great week!)
GPS Standard- To be able to compare and contrast the economic systems of China, India, JAPAN, and North Korea.
This week we will be finishing the chapter on Japan.
Homework- All vocabulary, people, and places from Chapter17- Sections 3,4,& 5...pages 382,387 and 390...Due this Friday. (There will NOT be a test on Japan on Friday.)

The students will locate certain features in Southern and Eastern Asia.
We will be working on Chapter 17- "Japan" this week. We will be completing a section per day. Be sure to read over the chapter during the week. We will also review the China map skills test on Monday. I will give the test on Tuesday, October 27th, so be ready! :)
Homework- Write all vocabulary, people, and places from Chapter 17- Sections 1 and 2- pages 375 and 379. This is due this Friday!

Tuesday- Chapter 15-Section 2- "Pakistan and Bangladesh"-pages 324-327
Warm up/Essential Question/GPS Standards
Read and discuss important parts of Section 2. Review the map of Southern Asia. Do group work/Power Points.
Wednesday- Chapter 15- S3- "The Himalayan and Island Countries"- pages 330-335
Warm up/Essential Question/GPS Standards (See above.)
Read and discuss important parts of Section 3. Review the map of Southern Asia.
Do group work/Power Points. Make a small eight page booklet on India or India's neighbors.
Thursday- Chapter 15- Review sections 1,2,and 3 of Chapter 15. Go over map skills in order to review for the test tomorrow. Show the map of Southern Asia on the Smartboard. If time permits, play Jeopardy on Chapters 14-15. :)

Homework- Write the definitions of words from Chapter 3...vocabulary from the top of pages 47 and 53. Extra credit will be the definitions of all words on pages 47, 53, and 60. There will NOT be a test on Chapter 3 because of the numerous definitions.
We will be working on Chapter 3 this week..."The World's People...Culture/Economics/Population".
The standard is SS7CG6...To identify the various forms of government.
