What's Cooking in First Grade ?

Thanks to all who went on the field trip last week. I was great and the children really enjoyed themselves. I am looking forward to the conferences on Friday. I hope you all received your reminders. I also sent home the permission forms for the next field trip to see Junie B November 9.
Bible: This week in Bible we will be talking Jacob and his dream. We will learn that God always keeps His promises.
Phonics: This week we will learn learn to about contractions and the letters x and y. Our spelling test is Wednesday Nov. 4. I have posted the new words and sentences on the flashcards. They will recieve the words for the next test Thursday and that test will not be until the following Friday.
Reading: We will continue to learn about sequencing. Our new poem for the week is "My Toes ". We will continue using our fluency readers and working on reading with feeling.
Handwriting: We are continuing daily practice.
Math: This week work on adding 0 to a number, counting by 10's to 100 and subtracting 1.
Heritage Studies: We will continue to learn about living in the New World and giving thanks.
Monday: P.E.

Wednesday: Music
Friday: Art
