ATTENTION!

1. We need some glue sticks for our crayon pouches.

2. Please keep your child's completed Reading Practice, Phonics worksheets, Reading Fluency Lists, and Math worksheets at home until further notice. I will probably begin collecting more samples of their work during the fourth quarter of school. Thank you!

3. Please be sure to send in a "filled" water bottle for your child each day! Thank you so much!

1. Take notice of the "Student of the Week" schedule listed below. Keaton and Kena are next! Thank you Maggie and Hannah for bringing in your information. We really enjoyed getting to know you better!

2. May 26th is Memorial Day and there will be no school.

3. May 27th on Tuesday night will be our school's closing program. The program will start @ 7pm. Please have your children in the auditorium no later than 6:30pm. Thank you!

4. Remember to send in your child's report card envelope so you will receive your child's report card for the end of the year.

5. May 30th is our last day of school. It will be a half day. We will be having our end of the year party on this day as well. Please let me know if you can volunteer as a helper on that day. We will have a lot of fun summer crafts! Miss Kristi will be sending out a letter in a week or so to let you know what you can give toward our party. Thank you! It should be a great time!

2. I have changed the way I do Show and Tell on Fridays . Keep your eyes peeled for your child's day to bring Show and Tell on the schedule listed below.

4. Be sure to check out the new link about down on the farm!

Student of the Week Schedule

Each week until the end of the school year, we will have a student of the week. This is an exciting way to get to know each other better! And it is so fun to have information and fun things about "you" posted in the classroom for everyone to see! Here's the schedule!

May 19th-23rd: Keaton Young and Kena Herrera

Show and Tell Schedule for April and May

May 9th - Maggie, Keaton, Julie, and Hannah

May 16th - Shayla, Luke, and Kena

(Last Show and Tell for the year) May 23rd - Loralai, Morgan, Isaac,  Shane, and Cade

 Special Thanks!

1. Thank you to all who help in the classroom on a weekly basis! I appreciate your support so much! God bless you!

1.  Don't forget to have your child wear his or her green chapel shirt on Tuesdays. We will also use this shirt for field trips in the future.

2.  "Jump and Learn" class with Coach Sally on Tuesdays. Be sure to have your child wear comfortable shoes for running and jumping. Gym clothes are not necessary for Jump and Learn because it is not as vigorous as a regular P.E. class. Girls should avoid wearing skirts and dress shoes with heels.

3.  We will have an outdoor recess every day and it is very important that each child have a water bottle to take with him or her especially in the hot months of August, September, and October.

4.  We will have a snack every day and it is important that we bring fruit, fruit snacks, or crackers. Please make sure you label a baggie for snack inside your child's lunch box so that it is separate from the other foods for lunch. I would like to try and stay away from heavier foods like pizza, and no cereal, please. Everyone may have a drink like bottled water, milk, or juice. I would like to request that no one bring a thermos with a drink that has to be poured into something. That can be very messy;)

5. I'm going to try something new this year to help you communicate to me when your child will go to extended care. After the first day of school, I will send home one paper animal labeled "Extended Care". It will have a magnet on the back so that you can stick it on the refrigerator at home. If your child is going to extended care on a certain day, please put the animal labeled "Extended Care" in his or her folder in the pencil pouch so that Mrs. Tatum (my assistant) and I will know where to send them at the end of the day.

I thought this might make the communication process a little easier. We'll give it try and see how works for everybody! Thanks !

6.  Please put an extra pair of dress pants in the bottom of your child's bookbag. We don't always go outside after it has rained, but when we do sometimes the slides are wet. We normally remind them not to go down certain slides so they don't get wet, but sometimes they forget:)

7. Also, because we sometimes have accidents, please send in at least one change of underwear---just in case!

You'll get to see some of their art work this weekend from the story Swimmy. We learned a lot from Swimmy and how he helped his friends see things from a different perspective!
