News for the week of January 5th. We hope everyone had a fun and relaxing holiday. We are rested and ready to get back into the swing of things. We are going to hit the ground running. The first week back we'll spend a lot of time on rituals and routine. It is important that you do this at home also. Remember a set early bedtime makes a big difference in your child's ability to function at school. We will begin reading groups within the week. Occasionally we allow the children to bring home a book so he/she can "show off". Please allow your child to read his/her book to you and return it the next day.
Our reading words for the week are: look and for. Remember to review previous words as well as our new words. We are continuing to work on report writing. Remember to turn in your child's journal from the holidays.
Upcoming events: We have a field trip to the theatre scheduled for the end of January. Permission slips should be coming home next week. The Kindergarteners are scheduled to perform at the February P.T.A. meeting. Look for additional information concerning this also.
