We are continuing to discuss the characters and the setting of the story. Have your child re-tell a story after you've read it.
In Writing, we are continuing to work on Narrative Writing. By the end of the year, students are expected to write a story that has a beginnhing, middle and end. The story should be in logical order. The illustrations should match the text. Encourage your child to begin spelling phonetically. Have him/her write the sounds heard as he/she says a word.
In math we are continuing to make patterns. This week we are working on border patterns. We're also working on graphing. For homework your child will have a graphing worksheet to complete.
In Science we are discussing pushing and pulling. We will also discuss the way things move.
In Social Studies we are discussing families. Each child has been asked to bring in a picture of his/her family to share with his/her classmates.
Our next field trip is scheduled for Nov. 24th. The day before our Thanksgiving break. We'll send out permission slips next week. The cost is #13.00 for students and chaperones. Chaperones will be able to ride the bus on this trip.
The children had a wonderful time at our Fall Experience on Friday. We appreciate each of the parents that came out to help. Thanks also for all of the goodies donated.
