HAVE A GREAT SUMMER!  SEE YOU IN AUGUST!

RAINY-DAY DISMISSAL

It is advised that you send a poncho or an umbrella
with your children if you expect them to walk home
rain or shine.  If you plan on picking your in the
event of inclemment weather, please have those
arrangements made in advance.  There are a minimal
number of phone lines out of the school and they
cannot be tied up with students trying to make rainy-
day accomodations.

AGENDAS/HOMEWORK

Please be sure to check your child's agenda EVERY
evening to see what homework they have for the day.
There are many students coming to school without
completed homework. Not only is homework is counted as
10% of your childs grade it also is either a review of
concepts taught in class or it is a preparation for
something that we will be doing within the next few
class meetings.  Please understand that the students
do not have a choice as to what homework they complete
each night.  ALL HOMEWORK must be completed as
assigned.  Also, please understand that the excuse
of "I had __________(football, cheerleading, soccer,
etc.) practice last night, so I couldn't do my
homework!" IS NOT A VALID EXCUSE.  The students must
be prepared for class each day! If you have any
questions about the homework policy, please do not
hesitate to call.

FCAT EXPLORER

Many parents have inquired about passwords for FCAT
EXPLORER.  Our classes have now been set up! Your
child has their user name and password on a sticker in
the front of their agenda. All user names and
passwords work and have been tested on the classroom
computers.  Just go to www.fcatexplorer.com and follow
the instructions.  This is a great tool to help your
child prepare for the reading portion of the FCAT. If
you have internet access at home, please consider 15-
20 minutes of FCAT Explorer as part of your child's
reading homework.
