1. Describe the location of the chloroplasts in the Elodea
cells in fresh water.
2. Where is the plasma membrane when Elodea is in fresh
water?
3. Is the fresh water considered a “hypotonic”, “isotonic”,
or “hypertonic” environment for the plant?
4. Why were the chloroplasts pulled to the center of the
cell when salt water was added? EXPLAIN, what happened
to the water in the cell and how the plasma membrane
moved.
