Volunteer Opportunities:

There is one way to make a real difference in the quality of your child's education and high school experience - GET INVOLVED!  Especially for parents of new high school students, spending a little volunteer time on campus is a perfect way to find out more about the school and alleviate some of the questions or fears about "what high school is really like".  For all students, parent involvement sends a clear message that your child is important, school is important, and that home and school are connected to work together towards a successful year.  For parents who are limited in their ability to travel to school or to give time during the school day, there are many other needs for your time and talents.  Just let us know what you can do and when you are available, and we'll find the right volunteer opportunity for you.

Reflections:

The Reflections Program is sponsored by the National PTA. The Reflections Program provides opportunities for students to express themselves through the arts, based on a theme. Students may take photographs; create paintings, drawings, prints; write sonnets, poems, short stories; compose a symphony, or write a song that reflects the theme.  Also, create a dance choreography, or a film/video.

The 2008-2009 theme is: "Wow!..."

Congratulations to those who entered.

Congratulations to the following students who advanced to State from the District level. Award of Excellence went to CAMERON PFAHLER in Literature, and DAVID KIDDER in Dance, and Award of Merit went to DAWN GIBSON.
The REFLECTIONS reception will be April 28th at 7:00pm in the Duval County School Board Building. The above mentioned students will receive their invitations soon after the Council meeting on the 15th.
Congratulation again and good luck at State level.
