Calling all parents! Graduation is quickly approaching. Fifth grade will be sending a note home regarding a meeting for volunteers interesed in helping to organize food, decorate, and etc. The meeting is scheduled for Wednesday April 16, 2008 at 12:45pm in the 5th grade centrum. If you can not attend but would be interesetd in helping, just send us a note! Mark your calendars. We look forward to seeing you!

June 5- 5th Grade Graduation 8:15am-cafeteria
HOMEWORK REMINDER
Homework will generally be assigned each night as follows:
M: Spelling worksheet, read 20 minutes
T: Grammar worksheet, read 20 minutes, study for affix test
W: Reading/grammar worksheet, read 20 minutes
Th: Spelling Pretest (25 words given by adult, test graded by adult, test signed by adult, student writes missed words 5x each), read 20 minutes
F: read 20 minutes
(Please notice that we have included reading 20 minutes minimum each night for all 5th grade students. Encourage reading not only novels, but newspapers and magazines as well. Reading orally to siblings is also a great way to increase fluency and expression.)
Tests are usually given on the following days unless our school schedule is changed due to holidays, workdays, etc:
Wednesday: affix test
Thursday: Reading test
Friday: Spelling and DLR (Daily Language Review)tests
