Welcome to Grade 7 Reading Class!!

I hope that this school year will be productive, challenging and rewarding.   We have many skills to work on, along with projects, vocabulary, and novels to cover before the FCAT test arrives.

HOMEWORK EACH NIGHT: Students are to read a MINIMUM of 10 pages at home in a novel of their choice. The chosen book must be the appropriate genre for the quarter and at a juvenile or young adult level.  Every two weeks, students are to submit an assignment for each chapter. Every four weeks, students will be asked to complete a book report for the genre assigned.

Please be sure that your child has a valid Broward County Library Card. In addition to checking out books, there are valuable research resources online that are free to all holding a library card.

Reading genres for this school year will be as follows:
QUARTER 1:  Science fiction or Fantasy
QUARTER 2:  Historical fiction
QUARTER 3:  Biography or Autobiography
QUARTER 4:  Mystery
