Hello and welcome to my schoolnotes page. I am Mrs. Helman, the Assistant Principal at Silver Palms Elementary.
I graduated from the University of Miami with a Masters Degree in Education with a specialization in Counseling and Guidance. GoCanes!!
I am married and have two grown daughters. When my daughters were in High School I went back to school to add Educational Leadership to my certification. I took classes at Florida Atlantic University (FAU).
As the Assistant Principal of our wonderful school I work closely with the Principal, Mrs. Walker. We work together to create a safe learning environment for you.
Sometimes you will see us visiting classrooms. We might stop and ask you what you are learning about. Be ready!
You will see us some mornings on the school's news, WSPNN. We will be sharing important events and information.
Welcome aboard for a great new school year! We have lots of fun family nights planned. Watch the school newsletter for upcoming events. We will look for you at the family nights! As always, we appreciate the support of our families!
Fall has finally arrived! Hopefully the humidity will subside a bit. The second set of Benchmark Assessment Tests (BATS) are quickly approaching. The children have the opportunity to practice their test taking skills. They will also be able to identify their strengths and weaknesses once the test scores arrive at school. This will enable teachers and students alike to focus instruction where it is needed most!
Special thanks to all of the families that supported our family nights at Cold Stone Creamery and Papa Johns. They were a huge success thanks to you!
Join us for our next family night at the Melting Pot in Cooper City for dinner on any of the following nights: 11/02, 11/03, 11/04, 11/05 and 11/06. A portion of your bill will be returned as a donation to the school! I invite you to stop by and introduce yourself when you are on campus. It is a pleasure getting to know you.
We encourage the students to read and I welcome them to stop me in the hallway and tell me what they are reading now!
