Please be aware that I will send home the Silver Palms Communication Folder every Tuesday. Please review it with your child and have them return the folder with all signed paperwork the next day.
It is important that the children practice multiplication facts daily. At the top of this site you will find some helpful math links like aplusmath.com and aaamath.com. These sites provide wonderful opportunities to practice skills the children are learning in class. Reading practice is also very important. Each child should be reading at least twenty minutes in the evening and keeping track of what they read on their reading log which is turned in at the end of the month. Reading and Math FCAT Assessments will be given during the month of March. Please have your child practice on FCAT Explorer. Also, the children usually have a test for either Science or Social Studies sometime during the week. I usually provide a study guide for them to review before the tests. I am requesting that you review and sign any study guide that your child brings home. If they return it signed, they often get bonus points on their tests.
Our lunch time is 12:38 p.m. which is late in the day. We have snack time around 10:25 a.m. Breakfast is an extremely important part of the day. It helps give the children energy to work and think. It is highly suggested that children have a good breakfast and bring in a healthy snack.
