WELCOME!
My name is Ms. Alexis Thompson. I will be your child’s Language Arts Teacher this academic year. Language Arts is comprised of Grammar, Literature, Drama and Writing. It indeed an exciting subject.
We are the 7A Olympians. This is because we are going for the gold. The focus this year is to strive for success and to reach for the stars. This year the positive and hard working students will receive special prizes through our F.I.S.S.H Program. Hard work will pay off!
AUGUST
Week 1
Students will be introduced to the Code of Conduct and be given the Team Letter with the needed materials for each class. The Instructional Focus for this week is Context Clues.
Week 2
A fire drill procedure will take place and identify to students the appropriate way to exit in case of emergency.
SEPTEMBER
Week 3
Students will need to bring reading materials for S.U.R.F on September 3rd 2008. They will read for the entire class. This is a program that is designed to enhance their appreciation for literature and foster a life long love of reading. Students will also be reminded to purchase their class materials, as their writing journals will be needed for S.U.R.F.
