Students in periods 1 and 2 were given progress reports yesterday. To earn a homework grade,these must be signed and returned. Missing work attached to the progress report will earn a 60% grade.
The progress reports show that a large number of missing assignments and resulting poor grades.
By Friday, all students will have been given a progress report. Please ensure that you see and sign it.
This week, the second Broward Achievement Test was done. Today (Thursday) will be silent reading for All periods in Math class. Tomorrow (Friday) is ZIP day when all students are given the opportunity to makeup assignments that they failed to complete. Each assignment earns 60% in Math.
By Friday, all students will receive a handout showing the web address of various Math dictionaries of which they should become familiar.
A notebook check will be done next week for a classwork grade, AxxC.
An orderly environment is essential for learning. Disruptive behavior is a distraction for all students which wastes teaching time and prevents learning. Please assist me in reinforcing the need for respectful and cooperative behavior.

I will be using Schoolnotes to communicate with parents.
Extensive behavioral problems are present in Periods 1,2 and 5. I will continue to make you aware of the individual student's behavior and ask your assistance to putting a stop to it. A few students are preventing the majority from being taught in an environment which promotes learning. This is not acceptable.
Some students are engaging in the unsanitary practice of shooting spitballs. This will earn an immediate referral if the student(s) doing so is(are)indentified
Progress reports are sent home each calendar month to be signed by a parent or guardian. A grade is given for its return. If you look in Pinnacle and see Z(zero) for this assignment, please be aware that the
progress report was not returned. Students will be given 60% for return after the due date.
Math study at home is essential. All students MUST have a notebook in which is written(DAILY)the date, the agenda,the lesson objective and notes of the day. This is a learning tool to be used in conjunction with the Blue or Red textbook sent home at the start of the year.Notebooks are checked each calendar month and a grade assigned.
Students are aware that assignments submitted without a name will NOT be graded.
Students have identified online Math dictionaries.
A list of these sites will be given to each student.
The second Broward Achievement test will be held on November 16 to 19.
