Objective: Students will determine main idea and identify relevant supporting details and facts.

•    Forged by Fire book reports due on FRIDAY 1/29.
•    Tears of a Tiger book reports due on FRIDAY 1/29.

Tuesday 1/20

Per. 1, 3, 6:

1)    Warm-Up – Word and/or Analogy of the Day
2)    Vocabulary TEST
3)    HOMEWORK:  Read for 30 minutes every night!  

Per. 2:

1)    Warm-Up – Word and/or Analogy of the Day
2)    Make-Up Vocabulary Tests (3)  
3)    Go over Vocabulary Test WITH Review
4)    Preparing for FCAT wkbk – Read pages  -     and do #’s  -     (students pre-write answer frames using rubric)
5)    HOMEWORK:  Read for 30 minutes every night!  

Per. 4, 5:

1)    TeenBiz – Finish Mid-Test
2)    Complete Today’s article and 5-step activities
3)    HOMEWORK:  Read for 30 minutes every night!  

Wednesday 1/21

2)    Word Wisdom workbook (purple cover) – Read “The Science of Forecasting” pg. 28
3)    Complete pg. 31 (V.I.S. Chart) for all 10 words.

2)    Read TeenBiz article (in packet) “Russian Teens Ready for Change?”
3)    Complete questions 1-10 on a separate piece of paper.  (Students MUST write questions AND answers.)
4)    HOMEWORK:  Read for 30 minutes every night!  

Friday 1/23

Per. 1, 3-6:

1)    Warm-Up – Word and/or Analogy of the Day
2)    Reading Strategies for Nonfiction workbook – “Use Visuals” - Read introduction on pg. 30
3)    Read “Exploring the Strategy – Home Run Kings” on pg. 31.
4)    Complete questions 1-5 on pg. 31. (Write questions AND answers….instead of placing a check, write the word out.)
5)    Read “Studying the Strategy – Allowance Survey Results” pg. 32-33.
6)    Complete questions 1-6 on pg. 33. (Write questions AND answers….instead of placing a check, write the word out.)
7)    Silent reading when finished.
8)    HOMEWORK:  Read for 30 minutes every night!
