Week of November 10, 2008

       * We are working on specific Egyptian monuments using the laptop computers. There are no tests or quizzes scheduled this week.

Weeks of October 27 and November 3, 2008

       * Promenade Around the Park will be held on Thursday, October 30, 2008!

       * In class, we are learning about ancient Egypt. There are no tests or quizzes scheduled for the next two weeks.

Weeks of October 13 and 20, 2008

       * A review sheet will be given on Monday, October 13, 2008 for the Early Humans test.

       * The test will be on Thursday, October 16, 2008.

       * October 23, 2008 is an Early Release Day

       * October 24, 2008 is a Teacher Planning Day. No school for students.

Week of September 22, 2008

       * We are working on Otzi the Iceman (Neolithic Man) in class. There will be no homework this week.

Week of September 15, 2008

       * We will be finishing our "Create a Country" activity in class and a review sheet for a forthcoming test will be given on Tuesday.

       * GEOGRAPHY TEST - Friday, September 19, 2008

Week of September 8, 2008

       * We will continue working on Geography and will begin a group activity where students will create their own country. All plans this week may change due to the threat of Hurricane Ike.

Week of September 1, 2008

       * This week we will be working on Geography-
vocabulary, continents, climates, and environments.

       * World History textbooks have not been sent home yet. All work will be completed in class.

Week of August 25, 2008

       * Tuesday, August 26, 2008 is a teacher planning day.

       * Thursday, August 28, 2008 is OPEN HOUSE. The hours are 6:00 - 8:00.

       * The CODE OF STUDENT CONDUCT Page 3 should be signed and returned to me this week.  Thank you very much.

Welcome to the 2008-2009 school year! Team 6B is looking forward to an outstanding year at Glades Middle School!

The first week of school will be spent orienting the students with our classroom and school procedures. Various papers, such as our team letter, will be sent home for parent review and signature.

Please feel free to send an e-mail if you have any questions or concerns. Again, we are looking forward to a productive and exciting year with our new 6th grade students.
