Week of November 17 – second grade

Title: Who's in Charge?
Theme: How we organize ourselves
Central idea: The government is organized to pronmote the common good of the people
PYP attitudes: cooperation

Students have created graphs to demonstrate the results of their class survey. This week we will recommend policies to the adminsitration.

We finish our Judy Moody book this week and create a scrapbook of her trip to Boston. before they begin the scarpbook, they put her journey through the Freedom trail in order.

In science we finish learning about reptiles and amphibians. Ask your child about the python they met last Friday. They will complete their own animal groups book where they identify characteristics of each animal group, give examples and focus on a specific animal's adaptations to its environment.

They are having fun writing letters to their peers.

Please contact me via e-mail to set a parent conference regarding your child, if needed.
