We would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to W.R. Thomas! For our new students, you are going to love your new school. And for our returning students, CONGRATULATIONS on our “A”!

As we discussed in class, Civics is the study of municipal affairs. We will be covering the beginnings of our United States to present day; covering economics, citizenship and so much more. This course will help you learn all about America and what it is to be a Good American.

You have the benefit of working with two teachers. We look forward to a rewarding year and hope that you enjoy this class.

Here you will find our home learning, information on special projects, links and your password for your textbook online.

*****************What did we cover last week?******************
It was a very short week due to the storm, however we were productive:
~ We watched the power point presentation and reviewed
      our expectations for this year.
~ We discussed respect and how important it is in a
      productive and positive learning environment.
~ We took a Civics Pretest to learn what you might already
      know about Civics
~ We took a Geography review test to see what you
      remembered from last year.
~ We issued you your text for the year. (Your NGT is soon
      to come.)
~ We looked over your Syllabus packet and asked you to
read it with your parent/guardian over the weekend
      and submit it on Monday.
~ We gave you the list of supplies necessary for you to
work this year. (Please bring them in on Monday as well.)

*****************Your HOMELEARNING!*****************

~ You will need to bring in all papers that were signed by
you and your parent/guardian on MONDAY – for a grade.
              Being responsible pays off!!!!
~ Consider the “Wish List” items if you can. :o)
~ You will need to bring your supplies:
          - ½” binder
          - with four dividers
          - notebook paper
          - a ream of copy paper
          - composition notebook

***************************************************************
We look forward to seeing you on Monday prepared and ready to work! Last week was wonderful – all of our classes showed great responsibility and decorum. We have a big week ahead of us and we know you will do a great job! Remind your parents to “stayed tuned” with your assignments and help you to continue to develop a responsible and
positive outlook about learning and school.
              YOU WILL SUCCEED!!!

What should you do? You left your text book at home and you are at a aunt's house and need to do your homework? See below.
