your copies. Use www.citationmachine.com to make your life easier.

in your journal. Make data charts and take pictures!
December 17/18 – Typed Abstract/Results/Conclusion due (Double grade) The abstract must be
submitted on the form provided by the Regional Science Fair Program. Their link is:
http://science.dadeschools.net/scifair/regionalFair.html This form will be glued to your board in

January 7/8 – Display Board & Journal due (Double grade) Please follow the sample board picture.
The Abstract MUST be pasted in the designated area or the project will be disqualified. Make sure
to translate your data into graphs. Make everything neat and attractive! Submit your completed journal at this time also. (See the Sample Board)
January 11-15 – Oral presentations (Double grade) Poise, knowledge of subject, voice level, eye- contact with audience, overall presentation skills, will count. See your presentation rubric. This

to the judges at the fair, so know what you are talking about.
Students whose projects make it to the Regional Science Fair Competition will be attending with Mrs. Delatorre as a field Trip Activity. Students will need to bring a chair, something to read or work on, and money for lunch. They should dress nicely to impress the judges as well. We will be spending the entire school day at the Fair (location will be announced later). Students and their parents will be responsible for dropping off and picking up the projects on the days assigned. SUPERIOR projects will need to stay an extra day or two, depending on the scores.
A late assignment will get NO credit. It will receive a “Zero” (but must still be completed for the board). To receive full credit, work must be turned in on time and in accordance with your science fair guidelines. All assignments need to be saved. That way you keep a copy to be used for the Display Board. Remember to have daily entries in your journal.
As you can see, this assignment is worth 16 grades. Do NOT procrastinate!
Take pride in your project! This is your opportunity to shine in science. Follow the guidelines and get the help you need early on. Mrs. Delatorre will be available to help students after school. Just let her know in advance that you are coming in the day before. Use the links below for extra help.
Remember that you have to learn the Symbols for your Elements! Start NOW!. Play the games on the links at the end of this webpage. You need to know numbers 1-36 plus Silver, Tin, Iodine, Platinum, Gold, Mercury, Lead, Uranium, and Plutonium.
