Nature of Science - 7th Grade Assignment
Mrs. Delatorre
Using Microsoft Works, Microsoft Publisher, or any other program, students will create and publish a 3-panel brochure answering the following four questions:
1. How can new scientific knowledge be used to reevaluate existing theories?
2. Explain how designs used for technological improvements should consider the values of society (economic, political, social, ethical, aesthetic, etc.).
3. How does Mathematics help answer questions about the natural world?
4. What is the relationship between science and society?
Answers should be carefully thought out and researched. Each question should be answered in complete paragraph form. All space in brochure should be used.
You may use clip art to fill in empty space and to help decorate and make your brochure attractive.
The back part of the brochure should have a section called Area of Interaction. Here, you will explain how your brochure relates to one or more of the Areas of Interaction. Again, your answers should be well thought out and explained.
You will be graded based on the depth of your answers as well as the organization of your writing. Spelling and grammar will also count. Finally, the overall attractiveness of your brochure will be taken into consideration. So, take pride in your work!
