Can you believe the school year is almost over? We are about 6 weeks away from the last day. There's
still lots of learning in store so make sure your child
is reading every night and completing all their assignments. We are working on our second nonfiction reading unit and the class is really becoming "experts"
on certain subjects. Ask them what topic they have chosen for their nonfiction research. Math is taking us through measurement, area, perimeter and fractions. We will soon be working on numbers into the thousands and multiplication. In science, we are learning about the environment and ways animals and plants work together. Our social studies unit is American Government. We are having fun learning about our country, citizenship, and laws.
On Thursday, April 24th at 7:00 you are all invited to come and see the children participate in the Evening of the Arts. The 2nd and 3rd graders will be performing and the artwork of all the grades will be displayed throughout the school for all to see. It is a wonderful evening. You will be proud of your child's accomplishments in the arts. Try to join us.
Next week we will take our final county assessments. You will see how much your child has progressed throughout the year.
I thank you for all of the work you have done with your children and all of the support you have shown me. As always, "Together we are better".
