PROJECT:
Title: Compare and Contrast
Individual or with a partner(s) up to 3 students.
The purpose of this project is to acquaint students with the historical impact of the Black Death on medieval European society. In comparing the Black Death to AIDS, students will understand the relevance of history as they also examine a contemporary problem. In addition, they receive benefical AIDS education.
Students will produce a project comparing and contrasting the Black Death (bubonic plaque) with Aids, working either individually or in groups up to 3 students. The type of project can be left up to each individual or group-a display, a video newscast or report, or a news-style magazine. The following areas must be addredded in the project:
>causes of both diseases
>symptoms of both diseases
>how both disease are spread
>any known or possible cures for both diseases
>the effects of each disease on the individual
>the effects of each disease on socity
All groups will make a formal presentation of the projects to the class on .
A card will be turned in on listing names of group member or individuals.
