SECOND TERM
This course is designed to provide a basic overview of current business and information systems and trends and to introduce students to the basics and foundations required for today's business environments. Emphasis is placed on developing proficiency with touch keyboarding and fundamental computer applications, so that they may be used as communication tools for enhancing personal and work place proficiency in an information-based society. This also includes proficiency with computers using databases, spreadsheets, presentation applications, and the integration of these programs using software that meets industry standards.
There is a $5.00 lab fee for the materials that are used in this course.
A folder is required to be kept for all FCAT activities and returned papers.
FOR Make up WARM UP ACTIVITIES, TYPE FROM A NEWSPAPER OR MAGAZINE OR ANOTHER SCHOOL TEXTBOOK. CHOOSE FOUR (4) PARAGRAPHS THAT HAVE AMPLE SENTENCES IN THEM. THIS ACTIVITY WILL BE ACCEPTED SINCE YOU DO NOT HAVE A STUDENT TEXTBOOK AT HOME.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
SPEED GOAL-END OF TERM: 45 Words Per Minute
Word Processing: Be able to produce professional looking business documents.
DataBase: Be able to prepare simple databases in Access.
Excel: Be able to prepare simple spreadsheets applying formulas using Excel.
Powerpoint: Be able to produce a ten slide presentation.
DeskTop Publishing: Be able to prepare a one page newsletter.
