(1) 1-inch binder *
(1) Package of 5 pocketed dividers *
(1) Package of wide ruled notebook paper *
(1) Spiral Notebook (70 sheets) *

* Student notebooks will be created on the FIRST day and maintained for the ENTIRE school year.

OPTIONAL YEARLY CLASSROOM SUPPLIES (Extra Credit!!)
(2) Rolls of paper towels
(1) Bottle of liquid soap
(1) Bottle of hand sanitizer
(1) Bottle of glue/glue stick
(1) Package of construction paper
(1) Large box of tissue

Class Work:
M/T: Students create foldable for Unit LEQs
while listenng to  Ch. 2, Sect 1

Discuss similarities and differences between plant and animal cells.

Record responses in LEQ foldable.

W/R: Read Ch.2, Sect. 2 Aloud

Read and review page 847

Create flash cards labeling/defining microscope parts.

Each student must take a turn at using their flash cards to label the microscope poster.

Create a flow chart with the steps to making a wet mount slide using p 847

Homework:
M/T: Cell Structurep 27 wkst, Lab Safety Contract, Index Cards

W/R: Study flash cards and flow chart for Microscope quiz on 11/11 &12
Teach one person wetmount slide steps.  Get signature

Review Cell Parts/Functions Table

Create a frayer diagram of your assigned organelle

Present your diagram to the class.  Class will select best of each organelle to display on word wall clothesline.

Respond to LEQ 3 & 4
