Procedures in the Classroom
1. Turn in your homework paper to appropriate box when you get to class.
2. Write down any homework problem’s you had trouble with on the board.
3. Sharpen pencils if needed.
4. Sit down quietly and begin the warm-up that is on the board.
5. When finished with the warm-up sit QUIETLY and wait for further instruction.
6. If you need to go to the bathroom, bring you pass to me so I can punch it out and then sign out writing the date and time you left the room on the sign out sheet at the door.
7. If you need to throw something away, get up quietly and go.
8. If you need my help raise your hand.
9. I will randomly call on students to answer questions during the lesson; make sure you are paying attention.
Grading and Tests
• You will have one test per chapter worth 200 points
• You will have quizzes worth 100 points
• Daily assignment
• Homework
• Participation/Effort
• Final Exam
Homework
You will have homework every night. Homework will be checked on a daily basis. As stated before, write any problems you have on the board and I will work it for you.
Notebooks
You are required to keep a 3-ring binder. It is only to have your math work in it. It is to have 5-sections which are to be labeled appropriately:
1. Warm-Ups
2. Notes
3. Class work
4. Homework
5. Test/Quiz
Hall Passes
You will receive 5 hall passes for each 9 weeks. You will receive 10 extra credit points for every hall pass you do not use during the semester. They may only be used to go to the restroom, get a drink of water, or to see another teacher.
Drinks/Food/Gum
You are allowed to eat/drink/gum in the classroom, provided that you clean up after yourselves.
Extra Help
I am more than willing to help any student that needs or wants extra help. You may come to my classroom after school Monday thru Thursday until 2:45 if you need any additional help.
Make-up Work
If you are absent, look at the calendar that has each day’s assignment written on it. If you need extra help after school I will be here until 2:45 everyday.
You will have the number of days missed to make-up class work and/or homework missed.
Should you miss a test or a quiz, you MUST make arrangement to make it up within one week(Monday-Thursday) after the absence. For instance, if you miss a quiz on a Friday, that quiz must be taken the following week or you will receive a zero. There are NO exceptions to this rule!!
I will not tell you what you missed. If you are absent you check the back calendar and see what you missed. If there was a worksheet, look in your classes appropriate folder and your worksheet will be there. This is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY!!!
**** Anything else that arises is up to the teacher’s discretion.
Expectations:
1. Be in your seat when the bell rings.
2. Bring all books and materials to class.
3. No personal grooming in class.
4. Sit in your assigned seat daily.
5. Listen to and follow directions the first time they are given.
If you choose to break the rules:
1st time: Verbal warning
2nd time: Name on board
3rd time: One check. 15 minutes after school on Thursday
4th time: Two checks. 30 minutes after school on Thursday
5th time: Referral and call home
Sever Disruption: Student sent to the office
