The vision of Good Hope Primary School is to promote students with a strong academic foundation to become lifelong learners and successful citizens.
Your child will be bringing home a chapter book to read each week. Since this is the first week and it is a short one, they will have until Thursday, Jan. 15 to complete the first book. They will be required to take an AR test on the book and the score will be recorded. They will be reading 9 chapter books, (one for each week) and these scores will be averaged together for one reading grade. This can either bring your child's reading grade up or lower it. This is a MUST complete assignment. If your child does not complete the assignment and take the test he/she will receive a 0 for the week.

We will be tested on our fluency as soon as we come back from Christmas Vacation-Dec. 22-Jan. 5. Please work with your child for 10 minutes each night. You may read to them and they to you. They need to hear a fluent reader and also need to practice. Helping them to reach their goal of 68 wpm will boost their confidence greatly. The more confident, the more eager they are willing to learn new things.
Please help your child count different amounts of coins. Give them a certain amount and have them show you different coins for the same amount.
