Spring is in the air, and we're all glad to see the warm weather returning. Our spring break will be from April 21st to April 25th. When we return to school from our break, the DIBELS reading assessment will be administered. We currently have 92% of our students meeting reading standards as indicated by the DIBELS assessment. I would like to thank our teachers and parents for all of your effort in helping our children become good readers.
To update you on our school's growth, I want
to make you aware of some new additions. We have added
an additional fenced area to our playground. This
area enables students to practice sports-type skills like t-ball, soccer, kickball, etc. during their
P.E. classes. We are adding a new seating area
for our outdoor classroom to replace the weathered wooden benches. Students enjoy going to the outdoor
classroom when the weather is warm.
Many of you are already aware that Good Hope Primary was awarded the "Exceeding the Challenge" award by the State Department of Education. The award was $20,000 for our school to spend on instructional supplies. We have used the money to update technology in each classroom. I would like to thank all the parents, community, and teachers for helping to make Good Hope Primary a wonderful school.
