Science We have completed our last project in science. You all did a fantastic job!!!! We will be reviewing the elements because you will be learning all about them next year!!!!
Reading We will continue to read in our different groups. If you happen to miss a day, please make this reading time up either during silent reading time, or take the book home and catch up with your group. This is your responsibility!!!!! Be sure to discuss your reading everyday. Discuss likes/dislikes among other things in the book. After we finish the readings, we are going to do a few end of the book fun activities.
Language Arts/Writing classes We are going to begin our very last topic in language on Monday. I will be presenting a demonstration speech to you that I have prepared. You will be given specific directions on how to create your own demonstration speech. I will give you several topics to choose from; however, I encourage you to come up with your own idea so that you will enjoy yourself!!! Think about something that you enjoy, and that you do well. You will be sharing these in class at a later date. I am looking forward to learning several things from you!!!!
Always remember to use SOAP in every essay to make it more appealing and interesting to the reader. SOAP means to use examples of the following: Simile, Onomatopoeia, Alliteration, and Personification!!! Please remember to have your writer's composition notebook when you come to class.
Announcements:
Please send boxtops whenever possible. I receive 10 cents for every boxtop. I can spend this on classroom supplies.
Remember to record your 20 minutes of reading time each night and have your parent to sign the form in the front of your binder. I will no longer accept a note from parents instead of the reading log. Responsibility is the key to it all!!!
Remember to write assignments, notes, etc. down on your calendar that we provided for you. This will help you become better organized.
If you need me for any reason at all, I am here to help!!
