MATH: We have covered lots of math in the last few weeks in preparation for the SAT tests. When we come back from our Spring break, we will continue with Geometry, and we will also be working on changing time and measurement.
LANGUAGE: We have been working on adverbs. Everyone did adverb sentence poetry for the hallway. I was very pleased with the results. The last few weeks of school will be spent on grammar review.
READING: "Walk Two Moons" was a wonderful book. We are going to start our last reading circles with the book "The Worst/Best School Year Ever". This is a very funny book. I think it will be a good one to read to finish out the year.
SCIENCE: We are back to the life sciences. We will continue with the chapters in section B of our science book, and then go on to section C.
SOCIAL STUDIES: We are about to start the Civil War. We will just dip into this section of our history. I think it is covered more in depth in 6th grade. I plan to show the movie "Gone With The Wind". I feel this is a good movie that will give some insight into the Civil War.
TECHNOLOGY: Our President's unit went really well.Our next power point will be on flowers with funny names. That will be after Spring break.
****FIELD TRIP IS COMING UP APRIL 29TH. I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO THE TRIP. WE ALWAYS HAVE SO MUCH FUN ON THIS ADVENTURE.
****WE WILL BE HAVING A PICNIC LUNCH RIGHT AFTER SPRING BREAK TO CELEBRATE THE END OF TESTING.
****PLEASE CONTINUE TO PRAY FOR OUR SCHOOL AS WE GRIEVE FOR GLIDA, ASHLYNN, AND JONNA. EACH AND EVERY ONE OF US ARE FEELING A TERRIBLE LOSS.
