                 Week of September 22-26  

   It's hard to believe that September has come and is almost gone. We are having a great year. Please continue to work with your child nightly on reading and other homework.  The Family Ties Sheet we send home each Monday is an excellent way to have a fun time (one on one) with your child while he/she is learning.
Thanks for the BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION. Please continue to send them.

SPELLING WORDS: part, born, before, smart, porch, chore, hard, horse, more, farm, conr, score Test on Friday

CHALLENGE WORDS: cardinal, therefore, morning These will be bonus words on the spelling test.

AMAZING WORDS: courageous, hazard, rescue, avalanche, instinct, skittish, blustery, fast-paced

SELECTION WORDS: brave, slipped, collar

WORDS TO READ: break, listen, family, once, heard, pull

READING STORY:  Tara and Tiree, Fearless Friends Comprehension test on Friday.

PHONICS: r-controlled vowels ar, or, ore
Review consonant digraph th, sh, tch, ch and wh

GRAMMAR: Introduce nouns. Review synonyms, Developing review different types of sentences -statements, question, commands and exclamation. Also continue to review complete subjects and complete predicates.

MATH:  We will continue working with counting and exploring coins, counting strips, and explaining how we solved the problem.

SCIENCE:We will continue working with organisms.
