Progress Reports for the 3rd nine weeks will be sent out on these approximate dates:

Please be aware that the Alabama Direct Assessment of Writing Grade 10 will be given the week of Feb. 19-22.
Also, the Alabama High School Graduation Exam will be administered Feb. 29 and the week of March 3-7. Tests will be administered as follows:
Friday(2/29)- Social Studies
Monday- Science
Tuesday- Math
Wednesday-Reading
Thursday-Language
Friday- Science(Biology)(All 10th & 11th)
It is imperative that you be in attendance during the next few weeks. Please schedule appointments outside the school day if necessary as most classes will be reviewing for these exams.
We will be reviewing pronouns- which are regularly a weakness on language, as well as punctuation which is a lengthy section.
We will be studying narrative writing, and we will spend some time reviewing the elements of persuasive and expository writing.

Online Roget's Thesaurus This online thesaurus is easy to use and perfect for spicing up your writing with new words. It will also come in handy with vocabulary assignments.
Writing Resources The explanations of grammar rules and paragraph construction are excellent. Notes could easily be printed for test reviews. It also has some good quizzes for grammar.
More Grammar! Powerpoint presentations for grammar rules and basic writing skills will help you review for the graduation exam. Quizzes are very similar to questions found on the Language Arts Graduation Exam.
Owl Research Guide Excellent detailed information about the writing process for research papers. If you miss covering one of the steps in class, you can read up on it here.
