All students need a 2inch 3 ring binder with filler paper and a one subject notebook. Do not use composition notebooks, please. Pencils or blue or black ink can be used: absolutely NO "colored" ink (pink, purple, green, yellow) should be used on work that will be turned in- including journals.
Novel List-
It is suggested that students purchase these novels; however, class sets for most are available in the school library. If you plan on marking passages for notes, buy your own book. This list is not comprehensive, and more books may be added as the school year progresses.

Online Roget's Thesaurus This online thesaurus is easy to use and perfect for spicing up your writing with new words. It will also come in handy with vocabulary assignments.
Writing Resources The explanations of grammar rules and paragraph construction are excellent. Notes could easily be printed for test reviews. It also has some good quizzes for grammar.
More Grammar! Powerpoint presentations for grammar rules and basic writing skills will help you review for the graduation exam. Quizzes are very similar to questions found on the Language Arts Graduation Exam.
Owl Research Guide Excellent detailed information about the writing process for research papers. If you miss covering one of the steps in class, you can read up on it here.
