WE had a very successful convention. We had several to place and will be eligible to compete at Nationals. Aislinn Baldwin and Heaven Garner both placed in the top 15 of poetry. Heaven then placed 3rd overall and is eligible for Nationals. Bella Martinez placed 1st in speech, Elijah Posey was 2nd. Both are eligible for nationals. Rachel Roberson and Hannah Brewer both placed first in arts and crafts. They both are eligible for Nationals. Kimberly King placed 3rd in the Wildlife photography but it does not compete at national convention.
I was very proud of all that competed and attended. You made us at DSMS and WCHS very proud.
OUR next big event is induction of new members. It is scheduled for March 24 at 6:30 pm in the high school gym. The new students being inducted need to be there at 6:00. Wear dress clothes. All members are invited. A reception will follow in the lunchroom. We are proud to be inducting 48 new members. Keep up the good work.
