8th Grade: Welcome to Family and Consumer Science for the second semester. We will go over the syllabus, rules, FCCLA, and plans for the class the first day. There will be a letter sent home to be signed on this day. Fees/Dues for the class are $22.00 and need to be paid as soon as possible. Course Outline:Character Education(all semester),Foods & Nutrition(cooking labs),Relationships & Child Care(Egg Babies),Clothing(sewing project), and Technology & Money Management. You will need a notebook or folder and writing utensil for my class. See you on January 5th,2010.
9th Grade: The students are in the foods and nutrition unit. They will make a cook-book, learn about safety & sanitation, cooking techniques, and go into the lab to cook. We will fininh the foods section the first week of the second semester. Then we will begin the clothing section. The students will be learning about the sewing machine and how to sew. We will pick a project and the students will sew.
11th/12th Grade Food and Nutrition: The students are learning about nutrients, food guide pyramid, dietary guidelines and how all of these affect our diet. They also cook each week. Please pay fees as soon as possible.
Kaitlin Snoddy, the county junior high beef cook-off winner, will compete in the State Beef Cook-Off on January 16,2010, in Montgomery,AL.
