"In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world."
John 16:33
Dear Parents and Guardians,
THANK YOU to all who serve our country!!!!! May God bless you and your family!!!!
Don't forget that next week is a "funny" week! We will be out for Veteran's Day on Wednesday, November 11!! Enjoy a middle of the week break!!! :)
*Parents I wanted to let you know that the students did do more academic pages this week than are in their friday folders. Due to me being out sick I did not get all the papers graded by Thursday morning. I promise they will be in there next week!! Sorry for the delay. Thank you for your understanding in this matter.
Please be sending your child a coloring book to leave here at school. Details below.
On an academic note...one of the most exciting things of the year is about to happen...SEATWORK & READING CIRCLES!!! Be looking for information describing this in great detail in the coming weeks!! I am very excited about this fun time with my students!!
Just a reminder for our little girls: when they wear a dress or skirt to school please put some shorts on under it. This allows them to not have to worry so much when they are playing or laying down for nap. Thanks!!
For those of you who have so graciously offered to help me with things in our classroom I am in need of items for our treasure box!! These are just simple small items which are a treat for our students when they have good days in class! Thank you in advance for you help!
Joyfully Serving Him,
Heather Thompson

Blends
Your child has probably come home talking about blends in the past week! Well here is an explaination about what a blend is:
A blend is the first consonant through the first vowel of a word.
These are very, very important to us as we begin to read! As we learn each consonant we learn its blends as well. For example, when we learned the letter 't' we also learned the blends for it: ta, te, ti, to, tu.
Rules
- K goes with 'i' and 'e' and C goes with the other three 'a' 'o' 'u'.
